Yale Locks E-commerce UX 

Yale Security, Inc. desired an online e-commerce experience for their Residential line. While an e-commerce platform was not been implemented at that time, Yale Locks wanted to move forward with discovery, analysis and envisioning workshop to create an online interactive experience called Yale2You that provided customers a similar browsing experience as they might have in their local hardware store.

The Discovery Phase

will consisted of a two and one-half day interview and discovery session with the Yale Locks. Our primary objective for these sessions was to come out of them with a full understanding of the site requirements, Yale’s goals for the experience, and the measures for success.

During the three-day onsite visit with YALE key stakeholders. we analyzed the information gathered from the workshop. Deliverables from this phase  included :

•Use Case Scenarios outlining the uses of the application

•Sketches of possible wireframes and interactions

•Diagrams to show possible application work flows.

•Site Map/Navigation initial work to lay out a high-level site map for the web experience.
Envision Phase:
​
Using the documents created during the Analysis Phase as a foundation, we created the following deliverables. 

•Wireframes outlining the web solution flow, functionality and interactions. 
•Design Direction Mockups and design direction, focusing on one screen from the wireframes. 

•DesignCompositions high-definition design compositions

Moodboards and visual style. Materials are used that bring feelings of weighting and value. Subtle gradients and metal textures combined, give 3D objects a feeling of crafted precision. Objects feel solid and robust. Generous white space provide clean and inspirational felling.
