Banco Azteca I Network Operation Center

Banco Azteca, Latin America's largest specialty retailer and financial services company. Banco Azteca’s Operations Center features a display wall with 54 display cubes to monitor its communications, IT equipment, and processes from its 800 branches in Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, Peru, Honduras, and El Salvador. The unified system allow it to provide realtime access to changing branch information to 800 separate branch offices — with 24/7 operation, and without compromising security.

The NOC was a marvel of high-tech systems being woven together to create a platform of incredible breadth and depth.
However, due to the amazing amount and variety of data being displayed and analyzed, the old NOC user interface was overwhelming in complexity, and shallow in it’s ability to help users diagnose issues. While the level of detail is initially impressive to external viewers (i.e. investors), the system was difficult to comprehend and quick analysis left visitors uncertain that the NOC was truly useful as a diagnostic and reporting tool.

Our goal was to create a majestic, informative and intuitive user experience that leverages current hardware, systems and infrastructure to their maximum.  Our successful solution will be two-fold:
One key area is to help users to identify errors/anomalies in greater detail than today across the three primary areas of Communication, Hardware and Transactions.  With that ability, Elektra staff and supervisors will experience faster response times to errors and greater opportunities for collaboration and proactive system management. Either onsite or remotely.

The NOC consist of 100ft wall of projection monitors broken into 3 banks of screens and is ‘designed’ to allow directors and technicians/developers to detect errors in the system and fix them. The 3 banks are broken down by: Hardware,  Communication  and Transactions. The company needed a unified system that would allow it to provide realtime access to changing branch information to 800 separate branch offices — with 24/7 operation, and without compromising security.

NOC Visualizations
Data can be represented as a series of connections between logical systems. This visualization is a Schematic View.Users can easily identify the nature of interconnected logical systems with a schematic representation of data. The flow of data from one system to another is clearly displayed. Issues are shown either attached a specific logical system, or attached to the connector between two logical systems.

Visual style
The theme is pure beauty, rich and elegant . With sharp edges, smooth gradients, and unobtrusive graphic elements, the theme shows that minimalist doesn't have to mean bland, and that professional can has a style all of its own. Powerful dark hues contrast  with strong saturated colors effectively for creates a design that really pops.
